On September 14, 2022, President Joe Biden was at the Detroit Auto Show “to announce $900 million in grants for electric vehicle chargers, the first round of the $5 billion in funding appropriated through the bipartisan infrastructure law” that he ushered through Congress in 2021. That same day, I paid my respects at the final resting places of five of his family members in Greenville, Delaware. One was his firstborn child — Joseph Robinette Biden III, known as “Beau.” The former Delaware attorney general died at age 46 of brain cancer, prematurely ending his political career, as well as his time as a son, husband, and father.
