Fascinated by the U.S. presidents since age seven, as a nine-year-old I embarked on a mission to visit each chief executive’s burial site. Both my grave quest and my love of history expanded over time.
In 2016 I earned a B.A. in History from Bryant University. I received the Pell Medal for U.S. History, which is presented to one graduating senior from each Rhode Island high school and college who has displayed excellence in the study of United States history.
In 2019 I earned an M.A. in History, Public History Track, from the University of Massachusetts Boston.
Since re-launching the revamped kurtshistoricsites.com in fall 2021, I have been transforming it into an even better website than its predecessor of twelve years. In the long term KHS 2.0 will be equipped with tools to not only aid your cemetery visits but to be a repository that directs you to reliable sources for your own historical research.
I continue to establish myself in the field of public history and am searching for employment at a historical institution in that capacity.
Additionally, I have written a memoir about my childhood travels to presidential gravesites and am seeking the best avenue for its publication. Any advice or assistance will be greatly appreciated!

The purpose of Kurt’s Historic Sites is to share the photographs and videos of my endeavors, as well as impart information about the places I have seen and the people associated with them. My focus primarily rests in presidential history, but, as is the case with more traditional research methods, “hands-on history” can apply to any area of historical interest. I encourage you to visit the sites and graves related to what captivates you. My hope is that your time perusing this website will spark your own passion for “hands-on history.”
